In addition to these, there are 10 Local Health Units and 7 Health Centres coordinated by the Health Department, which provide legal and occupational health services to Company personnel, external companies and the public. The areas of responsibility of RFI's local divisions vary according to the activities carried out. The most widespread and best staffed are the Local Production Offices, which are responsible for operations more directly related to railway operations.
Production activities related to the definition and monitoring of technical standards for infrastructure and technological systems and equipment, as well as operating regulations, are carried out centrally by the Technical Department. Specialist departments ensure, including through divisions distributed nationwide, the control of corporate processes relating to security; safety and quality management systems; purchasing; strategies, planning and sustainability; personnel management; station concept; legal and corporate; internal audit; asset management, R&D and innovation studies, and media relations.
