RFI - Verona Porta Nuova: opening of the new Sala Blu Office. More comfort for the travel of persons with reduced mobility

Over 8 thousand assistance services run in 2020

In Verona Porta Nuova, persons with disabilities and reduced mobility, including temporary, will be able to benefit from a new Sala Blu Office.

More spacious, recognisable and comfortable, the new Sala Blu Office was built by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (FS Italiane Group) according to new design standards and is located in the central part of the station, close to the main customer services area.

Made up of 14 offices located in the main Italian stations and one national one, the PRM Assistance Network provides assistance to passengers with disabilities and reduced mobility (PRM) who wish to use the services of all the Railway Companies in over 330 stations. This year sees the 10th anniversary of Sala Blu’s services.

In 2020, despite the health emergency that is still under way, around 8 thousand assistance services were provided by Verona’s Sala Blu Office, 40% of which at the station of Verona Porta Nuova.

The Verona Sala Blu Office is open every day from 6.45 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. and coordinates assistance services in 18 stations located in three different regions (Veneto, Trentino Alto Adige and Lombardy). To book the service, send an email to salablu.verona@rfi.it, or call the freephone number 800.90.60.60 (from a landline) or the national number at ordinary rates +39 02.32.32.32 (from abroad).

Assistance can be also requested directly from the web through the SalaBlu+ app and the SalaBlu Online portal. According to current rules relating to the health crisis, restrictive measures are in force on the notice period for booking the service which, for all facilities, must be requested 24 hours in advance. More information at www.rfi.it in the section Station accessibility.

With the new Verona Sala Blu Office, the FS Italiane Group wishes to be even closer to those who every day travel by train and use the stations.

At the same time, the programme of structural and technological measures that RFI is gradually implementing in all its stations is continuing, with the aim of eliminating architectural barriers and ensuring that all travellers can move around independently.
