Rete Ferroviaria Italiana is considering the introduction, within the first draft of the Network Statement (NS) 2028, of a new extra-MAP service referred to as “Wagon Storage”.
The new service will consist in making available non-supervised secondary tracks owned by RFI, to be used for the parking of railway wagons, through the execution of specific concession agreements. Further detailed information on the new service will be subject to consultation in the first draft of the NS 2028, together with the related fees determined by the Infrastructure Manager.
For defining the service charges, RFI intends to collect from stakeholderds forecast volumes for the years 2027, 2028 and 2029. In particular, the service will be requested, planned and reported based on linear metres*day of track granted for use to the applicant. Moreover, in order to allow RFI to carry out assessments on the sustainability of the charges resulting from the application of the current regulatory model, applicants are requested to provide information on the fees already paid for similar services at third-party facilities.
Forecasts shall be submitted, in terms of days of use for each track made available, by completing the attached template according to the example provided therein, no later than 22 May 2026, to the following certified email address: rfi-ad.ara@pec.rfi.it.
Finally, it is specified that the data provided will be processed by the RFI in full compliance with the applicable personal and commercial data protection regulations and will be used exclusively for the purposes set out in ART Resolution No. 95/2023.
